The Issues
- Infrastructure That Works
I live at the corner of Laurel Avenue and Highway 38, where my neighbors and I have dealt firsthand with serious stormwater problems. We may disagree about the solution, but we first have to acknowledge the problem - and then work street by street to fix what isn't working.
- Open & Transparent City Government
Residents should be able to speak about the issues their City Council is considering - including items on that night's agenda. During my time on city committees, I documented concerns with minutes, records and public process because we can't fix problems if we keep sweeping them under the rug.

- Protecting Our Charter
Families can only absorb so much. When city rates keep rising, it leaves less room for everything else - including school bonds and other community investments voters may be asked to support. Rate increases should be a last resort, openly discussed and justified to the people paying the bill.
The State of Oregon saying Reedsport can simply ignore the charter and raise water and sewer rates without a vote is wrong. I will fight for your right to vote on this issue.
- The Port/Overpass Project
The proposed Overpass project could have enormous consequences for Reedsport, yet serious questions remain about impacts to our streets, neighborhoods and infrastructure. If a project this big were coming through your neighborhood, wouldn't you expect the streets most affected to be studied and the people who live there to have a seat at the table? We owe our neighbors that much. If we're going to do this, we need to get it right.
- Connect Our Communities
A trail connecting Gardiner, Reedsport and Winchester Bay has been discussed for more than a quarter century. Twenty-five years is long enough. It's time to figure out what it takes to get it done and get shovels in the ground.

These are some of the issues that matter most to me, but serving on the City Council also means listening to you. What issues would you like to see the next council discuss and solve? Send me a message, I'd like to hear what matters to you.
